This is where our train stops on its return journey. You can alight here for twenty minutes or return on a later train.
We have a cafe housed in three former main line newspaper vans. Tea, coffee, snacks, ice-cream and soft drinks are sold here, with seating inside or outside at picnic tables where you can enjoy the view across the water to the peaks of the Brecon Beacons.
There is a children's play area which is very popular with our young visitors.
This is close to the Taff Trail, a well know cycle route and is also a good point to start a walk. There are details in the next section,
Here we are also developing a small Steam Museum which should be open late 2013. This will be housed in the old stone loco. shed next to the original Station Masters house and signal box.
In G.W.R days this was a busy junction, but the old platforms were removed in the late 1970's to accommodate the narrow gauge railway.
There is a good chance of seeing Red Kites here together with Herons and Mallards.
